Qualifications

• 8+ years in software or data engineering with a strong AWS focus.
• Proven experience architecting and executing cloud data platform migrations in production environments.
• Track record of evaluating AWS data services to meet reporting needs.
• Experience delivering reporting or analytics for non-technical users.
• Hands-on AWS data services: S3, Athena, Glue, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, OpenSearch, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch.
• Strong SQL to design relational layers over XML/JSON data.
• Experience with XML-heavy data stores and XML processing at scale.
• Ability to evaluate trade-offs across AWS services for cost/performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the next phase of healthcare data platform modernization.
• Evolve to AWS-native data architecture for scalable SQL reporting.
• Evaluate AWS data strategy and storage options (S3 + Athena, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, OpenSearch).
• Design and build reporting layer for SQL queries by non-technical users.
• Architect migration of XML object store data from MSSQL to AWS platform.
• Build and maintain AWS data catalog, schemas, and metadata management.
• Optimize query performance and cost across AWS services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into data models.
• Coordinate with back-end developers to ensure data pipelines integrate with EDI processing.
