Responsibilities

• Lead the next phase of the healthcare data platform modernization.
• Implement cloud-native AWS data architecture to enable SQL-based reports and queries against healthcare data.
• Evaluate the right AWS data strategy for the platform.
• Recommend optimal AWS-native data storage and query architecture for XML data (S3+Athena, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, OpenSearch).
• Design and build the reporting layer for relational SQL access by business users.
• Architect migration from MSSQL XML object store to AWS platform with optimized formats and partitioning.
• Maintain AWS data catalog, schemas, and metadata management for discoverability.
• Optimize query performance and cost across AWS services via partitioning, compression, and formats.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate reporting needs into durable data models.
• Integrate data flows from EDI processing pipelines into the new data layer.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines with AWS tooling (CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy).
• Apply IaC using AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
• Document architecture decisions and data dictionaries for technical and non-technical audiences.
