Job summary
Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to lead modernization of a healthcare data platform. This role will architect AWS-based data systems enabling SQL-based reporting, migrate XML object stores, and collaborate with .NET teams to ensure seamless data flow.
Strong AWS expertise, SQL, and experience with data cataloging and CI/CD are required. This is a 100% remote, US-based position, with Public Trust clearance expectations and veterans-focused outreach.
Qualifications
- 8+ years in software or data engineering with an AWS focus.
- Experience migrating cloud data platforms in healthcare or enterprise environments.
- Proficient in SQL and relational query design over XML/JSON.
- Experience with XML-heavy data stores and transformations at scale.
- Ability to translate business reporting needs into data models.
Responsibilities
- Lead the healthcare data platform modernization.
- Design and implement the AWS data architecture for reporting and analytics.
- Architect the migration from MSSQL/XML object stores to AWS.
- Build and maintain AWS data catalog, schemas, and metadata management.
- Collaborate with back-end engineers to assure clean data flows.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure using AWS tools.
