Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to advance a healthcare data platform in a remote setting. You will architect migration from MSSQL XML stores to a cloud-native AWS platform, enabling SQL-based reporting for business users and analysts.

You will evaluate AWS data strategies, design storage and query architectures, and implement data catalogs, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC practices. Strong AWS, SQL, and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

8+ years of software or data engineering with a strong AWS focus.
Experience migrating cloud data platforms in production environments.
Ability to select AWS data services to meet reporting needs.
Experience delivering analytics for non-technical users.
Hands-on AWS data services such as S3, Athena, Glue, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, OpenSearch.

Responsibilities

Lead the next phase of healthcare data platform modernization.
Architect migration of XML object store data to AWS platform with optimized storage and query patterns.
Design and build reporting layers for SQL queries via familiar tooling.
Collaborate with stakeholders and analysts to translate reporting needs into data models.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure using AWS-native tooling.
