Job summary

Oxford Corp is seeking a hands-on Data Engineering Lead to guide a small engineering team and shape Oxford’s enterprise data platform. You will own the platform strategy across Azure and Microsoft Fabric, manage complex ETL, and ensure reliable data products for analytics and business needs.

You will work remotely in the Eastern U.S., reporting to the Director of Data Operations. The role requires strong T-SQL, Python, and cloud data services expertise, with a focus on delivering scalable data

Qualifications

• Five or more years of data engineering experience.
• At least two years leading engineers formally or as a technical lead.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric in production.
• Experience with Azure data services and Fabric integration.
• Advanced T-SQL skills for ETL at scale.
• Proficiency in Python; working knowledge of Spark or PySpark.
• Strong data modeling (dimensional and lakehouse) and ETL/ELT patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD and IaC (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions; Terraform or Bicep).
• Clear communication and stakeholder influence.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers with clear priorities and career growth.
• Own platform strategy across Azure and Fabric and consolidate components.
• Build and mature Fabric platform components (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, OneLake).
• Develop and optimize T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and SQL Server environments.
• Design, test, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and stored procedures.
• Manage end-to-end transformation pipelines, orchestration, scheduling, monitoring, and recovery.
• Address upstream source-system changes with change-management.
• Establish standards for data quality, testing, observability, security, and CI/CD.
• Collaborate with analysts, BI developers, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable data products.
• Oversee platform reliability, performance, and cloud costs; govern access and PII.
