Job summary

Harnham is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to lead modern data platform initiatives built on Microsoft Fabric. You will design scalable solutions, implement Lakehouse architectures, and optimize data pipelines across global enterprise systems.

The role emphasizes data quality, governance, and production support in a remote-first environment. Ideal candidates will have deep SQL/T-SQL skills, experience with Medallion architectures, and a track record in manufacturing or finance data environments.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with Microsoft Fabric in an enterprise environment.
• Deep expertise in SQL and T-SQL development.
• Proven experience designing and supporting Lakehouse architectures.
• Strong understanding of Medallion architecture and modern data engineering principles.
• Experience with enterprise-scale data integration and transformation.
• Expertise in data quality, data reconciliation, and production support.
• Experience operating within complex technology estates and multi-system environments.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD, and platform operational management.
• Strong problem-solving and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Experience within manufacturing, supply chain, finance, or other high-volume transactional environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Lakehouse architecture.
• Build and optimize data pipelines using SQL and T-SQL.
• Implement and support Medallion architecture across the data platform.
• Integrate data from multiple enterprise systems and legacy applications.
• Ensure data quality, reconciliation, governance, and platform reliability.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive operational excellence.
• Contribute to DevOps maturity, deployment standards, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders across Finance, Data, and Technology functions.
• Support evolution of a modern enterprise data platform.
