Job summary

CVS Health is hiring a fully remote Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. You will design, build, and maintain data pipelines powering a self-service data platform, enabling application teams to ingest, transform, and serve data with speed and reliability.

You will grow your skills on a high-visibility platform, collaborating with senior engineers, and using AI tools to accelerate development while ensuring robust testing and monitoring across the SDLC.

Qualifications

• 2 years of professional data engineering or software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, including writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex queries against large datasets.
• Experience with at least one cloud data warehouse or data platform (Snowflake, BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, Azure Synapse Analytics, or Databricks).
• Proficiency with Git-based version control, including branching, pull requests, and code review workflows.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and automated deployment workflows (GitHub Actions).

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Python.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to support data ingestion, transformation, troubleshooting, and validation.
• Contribute to data modeling efforts and maintain the integrity of datasets within Snowflake.
• Integrate with Kafka-driven event streams for real-time data ingestion under guidance.
• Write clean, well-tested code and ensure unit/integration test coverage.
• Participate in code reviews and CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions.
• Implement logging and observability instrumentation and respond to production alerts on-call.
• Communicate blockers clearly and escalate issues as needed.
• Leverage AI development tools to improve development speed and code quality.
