Job summary

CVS Health is hiring a fully remote Data Engineer to join the Data Engineering team. You will design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and platform infrastructure powering a self-service data platform.

Work closely with senior engineers to ensure reliable ingestion, transformation, and data delivery across application teams. The role emphasizes Python and SQL development, with exposure to modern data platforms and AI-assisted tools.

Qualifications

• 2 years of professional data engineering or software development experience.
• Strong SQL proficiency including writing, optimizing and troubleshooting complex queries.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift or similar.
• Proficiency with Git-based version control and CI/CD workflows.
• Familiarity with automated deployment workflows (GitHub Actions).

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Python.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for ingestion, transformation, and validation.
• Contribute to data modeling and maintain data integrity on Snowflake/warehouse platforms.
• Integrate with Kafka-driven streams for real-time data ingestion under guidance.
• Write clean, well-tested code with unit and integration tests.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold team quality standards.
• Contribute to CI/CD workflows and validate pipelines post-deployment.
• Implement logging and observability for pipelines and respond to production alerts.
• Communicate blockers and progress clearly; seek mentorship from seniors.
