Job summary

CVS Health is hiring a fully remote Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines powering a self‑service platform. You will work with senior engineers to modernize data ingestion, transformation, and serving while ensuring data quality and accessibility for application teams.

You will build reliable pipelines with Python and SQL, contribute to Snowflake data modeling, and participate in CI/CD workflows.

Qualifications

• 2 years of professional data engineering or software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, including writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex queries.
• Experience with a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar).
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with AI development tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Python.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to support data ingestion, transformation, and validation.
• Contribute to data modeling and maintain dataset integrity in the Snowflake platform.
• Integrate with Kafka-driven event streams for real-time data ingestion.
• Write clean, well-tested code and ensure unit and integration test coverage.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold team quality standards.
• Contribute to CI/CD workflows and validate pipeline correctness post-deployment.
• Implement logging and observability for pipelines and respond to production alerts.
