Job summary

CVS Health is hiring a fully remote Data Engineer in the United States to join the Data Engineering team. You will design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and platform infrastructure powering a self-service data platform, collaborating with senior engineers and using AI tools to improve code quality.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional data engineering or software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in SQL: writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex queries.
• Experience with a cloud data warehouse or data platform (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure Synapse, or Databricks).
• Proficiency with Git-based version control and CI/CD concepts (GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with data pipelines, ETL/ELT concepts, and Python development.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Python for reliability and scalability.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to support ingestion, transformation, and validation in the data warehouse.
• Contribute to data modeling and maintain dataset integrity within Snowflake.
• Integrate with Kafka-driven streams for real-time and near-real-time data ingestion.
• Write clean, well-tested code and ensure unit/integration test coverage.
• Participate in code reviews and CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions.
• Implement logging and observability, monitor production pipelines, and respond to alerts as needed.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and leverage AI tools to improve speed and quality.
