Job summary

Giga Energy seeks a Director of Operations to own the day-to-day live-data-center performance across our portfolio. You will set staffing, maintenance, and escalation standards while guiding vendor relationships and ensuring uptime.

You’ll lead multi-site operations teams, drive continuous improvement, and report health to executives. This remote role involves 20–25% travel to facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in facility or data center operations with leadership across sites.
• Experience owning uptime, maintenance, and staffing for large facilities.
• Track record scaling an operations function in growth environments.
• Strong knowledge of generators, UPS, switchgear, cooling, and BMS/controls.
• Experience managing budgets and vendor contracts across multiple sites.
• Ability to present to executives on operational risk and performance.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operational performance across live data centers and uptime.
• Build and enforce cross-site operating standards including staffing and maintenance.
• Manage facility operations teams and site leads across locations.
• Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and SLAs for ongoing operations.
• Lead root-cause analysis for incidents and update standards accordingly.
• Own the portfolio operations budget and staffing decisions as facilities come online.
• Report operational health and risk to executive leadership.
• Collaborate with commissioning/construction teams for smooth handoffs.
