Job summary

Iron Mountain is seeking a Design Manager to join our North America Design team. You will lead the delivery of complex design scopes for data center new builds, customer fit-outs, phased expansions, and operational upgrades.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary consultants and internal stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant, and commercially effective solutions. Responsibilities include managing end-to-end design delivery, establishing plans and gates, mentoring colleagues, and supporting

Qualifications

• 5–9 years of relevant experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, or complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of multidisciplinary data center design (mechanical, electrical, controls, architectural, civil) and relevant codes.
• Commercial awareness to balance design choices with capital costs; strong negotiation, writing, and presentation skills.
• US citizenship and ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design delivery for building systems and major packages.
• Direct external consultants and coordinate internal stakeholders.
• Establish design plans, deliverables, decision dates, and review gates.
• Mentor junior staff and support site due diligence and permitting.
