Job summary

Iron Mountain is seeking a skilled Design Manager to lead the delivery of complex data center design scopes across new builds, fit-outs, and upgrades. You will direct multidisciplinary consultants and coordinate internal stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant, and financially effective solutions.

The role offers high autonomy, travel up to 25%, and opportunities to mentor teammates while shaping design standards across North America. A university degree and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Typically 5–9 years of relevant experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Strong working knowledge of multidisciplinary data center design (mechanical, electrical, controls, architectural, civil) with codes and permitting.
• University degree in Architecture, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; US Citizenship; able to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Own Complex Design Scopes: End-to-end design delivery of building systems and major packages.
• Direct Consultants & Stakeholders: Lead external design consultants and coordinate internal partners.
• Establish Plans & Quality Control: Set design plans, deliverables, and review gates with risk assessment.
• Drive Governance & Support: Provide design reporting, due diligence, permitting support, and mentoring.
