Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise seeks a Cybersecurity Pre-Sales Engineer for SD-WAN and Secure Networking. This remote field-based role requires Seattle, WA area residence to support the assigned territory and customers.

You will lead technical discovery, design scalable secure networking architectures, deliver demos and PoCs, respond to RFPs, and collaborate with sales, partners, and services teams. Travel ~25% within the US.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in technical pre-sales, sales engineering, or solution architecture.
• Hands-on experience with SASE, Zero Trust, SD-WAN, and cloud-delivered security.
• Strong understanding of firewalls, IPsec, SSL-VPN, IDS/IPS, and traffic inspection.
• Solid networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP/S, BGP, and OSPF.
• Familiarity with SSO, SAML, OAuth, OIDC, and RBAC concepts.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud.
• Excellent communication to translate complex concepts for government and education stakeholders.
• Ability to travel approximately 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery sessions with agencies, districts, and schools.
• Design scalable, vendor-agnostic secure networking architectures (SD-WAN, SSE, ZTNA).
• Deliver high-impact demonstrations, workshops, and PoCs for government/education.
• Position security and networking solutions for multi-site, remote, and cloud use cases.
• Respond to RFPs/RFIs and security questionnaires with clear architecture docs.
• Collaborate with account managers, partners, resellers, and services teams.
• Present to CIOs, CISOs, IT directors, and other stakeholders.
• Provide field feedback to product/engineering based on customer needs.
• Travel within the territory for meetings and events (NASCO, GovTech, etc.).
