Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Development LP seeks a Cybersecurity Pre-Sales Engineer to design and demonstrate secure networking solutions for government and education. This remote field-based role requires a Seattle-area base to support the territory and customers.

You will lead technical discovery, architect scalable security platforms, and deliver POCs across SD‑WAN, ZTNA, SSE, and CASB use cases, collaborating with account managers and partners to drive successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in technical presales, sales engineering, or solution architecture within networking, security, or cloud domains.
• Hands-on experience with SASE, Zero Trust, SD-WAN, and cloud-delivered security architectures.
• Strong understanding of security technologies including firewalls, IPsec, SSL-VPN, IDS/IPS, and traffic inspection.
• Solid networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP/S, BGP, and OSPF.
• Familiarity with identity and access management concepts including SSO, SAML, OAuth, OIDC, and RBAC.
• Working knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud).
• Excellent communication skills translating complex concepts for government/education stakeholders.
• Ability to travel ~25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery sessions with agencies to understand missions, IT environments, compliance, and security requirements.
• Design scalable secure networking architectures incorporating SD-WAN, SSE, identity-based access, and next-gen firewall tech.
• Deliver high-impact demonstrations, workshops, and POCs covering SD-WAN, ZTNA, SWG, CASB, and DEM in govt/education contexts.
• Position integrated security and networking solutions addressing multi-site connectivity, remote user access, and cloud adoption.
• Support pursuits by responding to RFPs/RFIs/security questionnaires with clear docs and diagrams.
• Collaborate with account managers, partners, resellers, and services teams to close deals.
• Present to CIOs, CISOs, IT directors, and elected officials; provide field feedback to product/engineering.
