Job summary

UPS is seeking a Customs Brokerage Specialist II for a role that starts with six weeks of on-site training in Louisville, KY, then transitions to a fully remote position. You will review import documentation, classify goods, and ensure compliance with federal regulations while coordinating with customers, carriers, and international partners.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED, basic HTS knowledge, strong data-entry and communication skills, and the ability to troubleshoot documentation

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent.
• Basic understanding of U.S. customs operations, regulations, and government agencies.
• Familiarity with HTS codes or tariff classification is a plus but not required.
• Strong computer skills and comfort with data entry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve documentation issues.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process customs entries accurately and on time.
• Review and audit commercial documents; identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Apply correct HTS codes for duty assessment.
• Communicate documentation needs with customers and foreign origins.
• Coordinate freight forwarding and delivery with domestic and international carriers.
• Submit customs entries via GBS-CM in a timely manner.
• Scan and upload documentation into internal imaging systems.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and database-driven analyses.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients through proactive, clear communication.
• Support weekend or holiday work on a rotational basis, as needed.
