Job summary

HOZIO is seeking a Certified Public Accountant with strong bookkeeping experience to support day-to-day accounting for our SMB clients. The role owns core functions—reconciliations, payroll support, AP/AR, financial reporting, and month-end close—for a portfolio of clients, working remotely and collaborating daily in English with a U.S.-based team.

The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on bookkeeping experience, proficiency with QuickBooks Online, and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on bookkeeping experience for SMBs.
• Strong command of bank reconciliations, payroll support, AP/AR, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online; ability to learn new accounting platforms quickly.
• Prior experience working remotely for a U.S.-based company.
• Professional written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily bookkeeping operations for a portfolio of SMB clients.
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Support payroll processing, including reviewing entries for accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing, bill pay, and collections follow-up.
• Prepare and review financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for client and internal review.
• Oversee month-end close for assigned clients, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Maintain accurate, audit-ready records across QuickBooks Online and other client accounting systems.
• Flag discrepancies, unusual transactions, or process gaps to management proactively.
• Communicate directly with U.S.-based team members and, as needed, clients, in English.
