Job summary

Zero Tax in Tampa Bay area is seeking a part-time remote Senior Bookkeeper to support our accounting department. You will record financial transactions, manage liability accounts, update vendors, and recognize expenses and income using QuickBooks Online.

You will ensure accurate chart of accounts, oversee transaction categorization and balance sheet accounts, and assist the Customer Success Manager with high-quality accounting and tax services for small business clients.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Bookkeeping and preparing Financial Statements.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and payroll systems.
• Strong AR and invoice/payment reconciliation.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Role Description

This is a part-time remote position for a Senior Bookkeeper with compensation that will vary based on experience, skill set and communication/document management abilities with hourly pay starting at $15/hour - we are open to discussing compensation and flexible to arrangements. The Senior Bookkeeper will be responsible for handling day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions, managing liability accounts, vendor updates and expense/income recognition as applicable, via Quickbooks Online, and maintaining accurate chart of accounts as necessary for small business customers. In this role, you will also ensure the smooth operation of accounting software, transaction categorization, balance sheet accounts and support the Customer Success Manager in providing the highest quality accounting and tax services.

The core customer industries include Professional Services, Trade Services, Real Estate and Software. We do not work with E-Commerce, Manufacturing or inventory based businesses.

Your mission will be to apply your skills where applicable to customer's financial records and communicate specific needs upon identification to ensure you have the resources you need for quality and accurate work.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Bookkeeping and preparing Financial Statements
• Experience with Quickbooks Online, Ramp, AMEX, Gusto, ADP, Paylocity & QBO Payroll
• Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable and Invoice/Payment Reconciliation
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting
• Previous experience in small business accounting is a plus
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
