Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking a Growth- and Improvement-minded Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in Respiratory - COPD.

This credentialed director-level role drives scientific exchange, investigator engagement, and data-driven insights across the Northeast US region. You will navigate GCP, FDA and company SOPs while mentoring field medical teams and aligning with trials and investigator-supported studies.

Qualifications

• PhD/MD-level clinical or scientific degree required with at least 3 years of relevant respiratory experience beyond the terminal degree.
• Strong ability to manage stakeholders and communicate complex scientific data clearly.
• Familiarity with FDA, HIPAA, GCP and other regulatory guidelines in pharma.

Responsibilities

• Engage with national and regional scientific leaders to exchange approved medical information.
• Lead scientific discussions and respond to inquiries related to COPD/respiratory medicine.
• Support scientific congress activities and disseminate study results to stakeholders.
• Gather insights from SLs to inform research priorities and medical strategy.
• Collaborate across GMSA and field teams to ensure compliant medical communication.
