Job summary

Merck in the United States is seeking a Growth and Improvement minded Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in Respiratory - COPD to support Strategic Operating Priorities. This field-based role engages with Scientific Leaders to share unbiased medical information and collaborate on investigator-sponsored research.

The Regional Medical Scientific Director will build scientific relationships, manage external stakeholders, and guide study concepts while adhering to GCP and company SOPs.

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience beyond the terminal degree, e.g., COPD/Respiratory.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs for access to medical information on COPD and Company products.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains a medical contact within the company.
• Addresses scientific questions and directs inquiries to appropriate resources per policies.
• Maintains current knowledge of AOI and pharmacovigilance guidelines in the therapeutic area.
• Supports protocol development and site initiation visits (SIVs) for trials as needed.
