Job summary

Guidebook, a fully remote team serving higher education institutions, seeks a Controller to own accounting operations end-to-end. You will run the monthly close, manage AR/AP, payroll, cash, and reporting for leadership and the board. You’ll be the NetSuite owner with no direct reports, reporting to the President with fractional CFO support when needed.

This role requires 7+ years of accounting experience, a Bachelor’s in Accounting, and deep NetSuite knowledge. Based on the U.S.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting experience
• Owned a close end-to-end
• NetSuite expert
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
• Ability to document and improve processes
• Clear written communication

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close and journal entries
• Own AR, AP and cash management
• Process payroll and reconcile payroll GLs
• Administer corporate cards and expenses
• Prepare monthly P&L and balance sheet analysis
• Own NetSuite system and COA cleanliness
• Document existing processes and implement controls
• Coordinate with external CPA for tax and audits
• Assist budgeting and forecasting
• Manage insurance and risk considerations
