Job summary

South Coast Community Services is seeking a Controller to lead the Accounting function, ensuring complete and accurate financial reporting. This hands-on leadership role reports to the CFO and oversees close processes, GL integrity, AP, payroll, fixed assets and tax reporting.

The Controller will build the Accounting team, improve processes, controls, and automate reporting in NetSuite, partnering with FP&A and Revenue Cycle Management while maintaining strong governance and not-for-profit

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field; CPA preferred.
• CPA certification strongly preferred or required depending on role.
• Experience in not-for-profit or government contracting a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Accounting team and ensure timely monthly and annual close.
• Maintain GL integrity; ensure reconciliations and supporting docs.
• Oversee accounts payable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and tax reporting (Form 990).
• Oversee audits and PBC process; coordinate with external auditors.
• Improve financial reporting, automation, and internal controls; leverage NetSuite.
