Job summary

Promentrs is seeking a senior Controller to serve as the financial leader for client engagements. You will own the accounting function, ensure financial integrity, and partner with C-suite executives across industries.

This role begins as a 1099 independent contractor with the potential to transition to full-time employment. You will lead the close process, provide strategic financial insights, and drive internal controls across diverse environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 10+ years progressive accounting experience with 3–5 years in a controller/senior leadership role.
• Deep U.S. GAAP expertise; SEC reporting experience a strong plus.
• Experience with large ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday) and ERP implementations a plus.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; able to distill complex financial matters into clear language.

Responsibilities

• Own the accounting function for client engagements and ensure financial integrity.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close with GAAP compliance.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and board materials.
• Lead variance analysis and communicate findings to senior leadership.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff at client sites and drive process improvements.
