Job summary

Aon is seeking an experienced Construction Claim Advocate to represent general contractors and construction clients through complex liability claims. You will evaluate coverage, coordinate with insurers and defense counsel, and move matters toward decisive resolution.

The role demands strong construction claims knowledge, sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to translate complex issues into clear, actionable guidance for clients and carriers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial insurance, construction claims, carrier, TPA, brokerage, legal, or risk‑management experience.
• Direct experience with claims involving job‑site accidents, coverage analysis, contractual risk transfer, construction defect, and/or litigated construction claims strongly preferred.
• New York Labor Law experience, particularly §§ 200, 240(1), and 241(6), strongly preferred.
• Must have the willingness to obtain an active Property and Casualty license within four months of hire (90 days).
• Relevant insurance or claims designations, such as AIC, ARM, CPCU, CRIS, or SCLA, are beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for general contractors and construction clients through the claim and dispute‑resolution process.
• Evaluate liability, damages, coverage, and contractual obligations and develop coordinated resolution strategies.
• Analyze coverage and contracts to maximize insurance recovery.
• Develop risk‑transfer strategies and manage tenders to subcontractors and insurers.
• Manage litigated claims and provide guidance on defense and settlement posture.
