Roers Companies is seeking an energetic Compliance Specialist to join our team. The role focuses on move-in applications, annual recertifications, and ensuring compliance with program guidelines across our properties. Remote (U.S.

— AZ, CO, FL, MN, NC, ND, TX, UT, WI) and part of a growing platform with strong benefits. You will work with site teams to maintain accuracy, prepare for audits, and manage records in compliance systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3–4+ years of affordable housing compliance experience.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to manage multiple certifications and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and customer service when working with applicants, residents, and colleagues.
• Experience with property management or compliance software (e.g., Yardi, Rent Café) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process and track move-in applications within 3–5 business days of submission.
• Process annual recertifications within 30 days of the annual recertification effective date.
• Input applicant income, asset, and household information in compliance with program guidelines.
• Ensure move-in files are complete and ready for compliance review prior to lease signing.
• Communicate with applicants, residents, and site teams to request missing documentation.
• Partner with property management staff to support timely move-ins and occupancy goals.
• Maintain accurate records in property management and compliance systems.
• Track application status and provide regular updates to Compliance Leadership and regional managers.
• Assist in preparing move-in files for investor, state agency, or internal audits.
• Contribute to timely completion of required annual compliance reports.
• Collaborate with senior compliance and managers to resolve deficiencies quickly.
