Job summary

Norton Rose Fulbright US LLP seeks an experienced Compliance (Lateral Hiring Conflicts) Analyst to join the US team. The role focuses on conflict-of-interest checks related to lateral hiring, using the conflicts database and corporate history research to protect client engagements.

Ideal candidates have strong research, analytical and communication skills, and can work independently while coordinating with the Compliance Attorney. Remote work from approved states is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and one year of conflicts or legal assistant experience (or similar analyst experience in a decision-making capacity) required.
• In lieu of bachelor’s degree, five years of conflicts or legal assistant experience (or similar analyst experience in a decision-making capacity) required.
• Excellent oral and written business communication skills; prior exposure to international business correspondence is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills required.
• Strong analytical skills required.
• Ability to keep confidential information and exercise good issue-spotting skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to lawyer and staff requests to perform conflicts of interest searches.
• Review information submitted for completion and accuracy; follow-up as needed to clarify information.
• Research corporate history of clients and parties; search websites for corporate affiliations.
• Use Boolean searching and search terms to query the conflicts database and design effective searches.
• Review generated conflict reports for relevancy and identify potential conflicts issues.
• Summarize the basis for potential conflicts and communicate findings to the assigned Compliance Attorney.
• Develop familiarity with Global Practice Standards and answer inquiries regarding share dealings and related issues.
• Safeguard and keep confidential any information related to firm business matters.
