Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company (BHDIC) is seeking an experienced Complex Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist for the Western USA. This fully remote role handles highly complex WC files across multiple states, including California, Arizona, and Colorado, with occasional travel for mediations and trainings.

The position reports to the Workers’ Compensation Complex Claims Team Lead and requires 10+ years of WC claims experience and active adjuster licensure.

Qualificações

• Active adjuster license required or SIP.
• 10+ years of experience handling complex workers’ compensation claims.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, communication and time management skills.
• Experience with structured settlements and Medicare Set-Asides.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, virtual office environment.

Responsabilidades

• Investigate coverage, determine compensability, and manage high exposure WC claims.
• Proactively establish and update reserves throughout the life of the claim.
• Resolve claims within authority and advise senior leadership on high-value cases.
• Collaborate with defense counsel and medical providers to manage files.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal WC regulations.
• Train new team members and act as a technical resource.
