Job summary

Udacity, now an Accenture company, seeks a Community Moderator to support scholarship communities and ensure a healthy, engaging online learning space. You will monitor forums daily, including weekends, at least twice a day, and collaborate with the Community Manager to drive learner engagement and reporting.

This part-time contractor role is remote in the USA/Canada region, requiring strong communication, organization, and knowledge of online community platforms.

Qualifications

• Residence in USA/Canada required or preferred.
• Udacity Nanodegree graduate is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of online communities and ability to stay cool under pressure.
• Reliable internet connection for fully online duties.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a proactive approach.
• Familiarity with online community moderation tools (forums, comments, content management).
• Knowledge of Udacity’s services, audience, and community culture.
• Ability to clearly communicate information and report when needed.
• Understanding of customer service principles.
• Must be available to work across days, evenings, and weekends.
• Student-oriented mindset focused on learner needs.
• Willingness to take this as a part-time external contractor role.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-technical support to students within the community.
• Organize and maintain the online platform and moderation workflow.
• Handle violation posts and ensure members follow guidelines.
• Assist Community Manager with performance summaries when requested.
• Support forum activities and brainstorm engagement strategies with the Community Manager.
• Attend regular online meetings with Udacity representatives.
• Be responsive in group discussions with Udacity representatives.
