Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Commissioning Agent to join our remote US-based team. The role focuses on commissioning mission critical electrical and mechanical systems, including power distribution, UPS, BAS/BMS, and HVAC equipment for client sites.

The candidate will travel up to 75% nationally or internationally, work remotely, and occasionally meet clients for training and meetings. Strong test instrumentation skills and field experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 7 years of industry experience in electrical power distribution or mechanical systems.
• AA degree, military training or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD and MS Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews of systems.
• Develop, oversee and write startup and commissioning procedures.
• QA/QC of the equipment installation.
• Perform construction observations and develop functional test plans.
• Execute tests for electrical and mechanical systems per standards and procedures.
• Assist in training plant operations and maintenance personnel.
• Act as liaison with vendors and subcontractors regarding problem resolution and testing.
• Review and analyze data and prepare technical reports.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors and project team members.
• Work with others to manage small to mid-size projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule.
• Other duties as assigned.
