Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Commissioning Agent to join our team as a Remote, US-based professional. The role focuses on commissioning mission-critical center equipment—power generation, UPS, static transfer switches, PDU, BAS & BMS, and HVAC systems—across client sites, with significant travel.

The candidate should have 7+ years in electrical power distribution or mechanical systems, an AA degree or military training, and proficiency with test equipment and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• 7 years of industry experience in electrical power distribution or mechanical systems.
• AA degree, military training or equivalent work experience.
• Experience diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems.
• Ability to work in a high-stress environment and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Willingness to travel 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews of systems.
• Develop and write startup and commissioning policies and procedures.
• QA/QC of equipment installation.
• Conduct construction observations and develop functional test plans.
• Execute tests for electrical and mechanical systems per standards.
• Train plant operations and maintenance personnel.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for problem resolution and testing.
• Review data and prepare technical reports.
• Maintain communication with clients and project team.
