Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Commissioning Agent to join our team remotely in the United States. The role involves commissioning mission-critical systems such as power distribution, UPS, switchgear, PDU, BAS/BMS, and HVAC equipment with extensive travel (75%).

Qualifications

• 7 years of industry experience in electrical power distribution or mechanical systems
• AA degree, military training or equivalent work experience
• Experience diagnosing construction and operational problems
• Organized with excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience with MS Word and Excel is required
• Ability to work in a high-stress environment, multi-task and meet deadlines
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to guide others
• Knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Must have or obtain a passport
• Five years of commissioning experience including performance contracting requirements
• Proficiency in commissioning procedures (BCA, PECI, ASHRAE)
• Preferred experience: hospital, biotech, data center, energy analysis
• Willingness to travel 75% of the time

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews of systems
• Develop, oversee and write startup and commissioning policies and procedures
• QA/QC of the equipment installation
• Perform construction observations and develop functional test plans
• Execute tests for various electrical and mechanical systems per standards
• Assist in training plant operations and maintenance personnel
• Liaise with vendors and subcontractors for problem resolution and testing
• Review and analyze data and prepare technical reports
• Maintain communication with clients, contractors and project team members
• Manage small to mid-size projects meeting client expectations for technical excellence, budget, schedule
• Other duties as assigned
