Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Commissioning Agent to support mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems, with 75% travel nationwide/international. Remote work is possible, with client-facing responsibilities and detailed commissioning activities across PS/UPS/BMS/HVAC domains.

The ideal candidate has strong test equipment knowledge, building code familiarity, and the ability to manage projects with technical excellence and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• 7 years in electrical power distribution or mechanical systems.
• Experience diagnosing construction and operational problems.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
• Willingness to travel 75% of the time.
• Knowledge of building codes and commissioning standards (BCAs, PECI, ASHRAE).

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews of systems.
• Develop startup and commissioning policies and procedures.
• QA/QC of equipment installation.
• Perform construction observations and develop functional test plans.
• Execute tests for electrical and mechanical systems per standards.
• Assist in training of plant operations personnel.
• Act as liaison with vendors and subcontractors for problem resolution.
• Review and analyze data and prepare technical reports.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors and project team.
• Work with others to manage small to mid-size projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule.
• Other duties as assigned.
