Job summary

The Mutual Group is seeking an Underwriting Specialist to manage a book of business, assess risk, and prepare quotes for profitability and growth. You will work with agents and internal teams to drive positive business flow and respond to coverage questions within your authority.

Based on location, this role will be hybrid or remote, with some in-office training. Candidates should have extensive underwriting experience in commercial lines, strong analytical skills, and a customer-focused

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or related field preferred.
• Seven years of commercial underwriting experience; 1–3 years in P&C.
• Experience underwriting churches or religious-affiliated institutions preferred.
• Strong knowledge of P&C terms, regulations and underwriting concepts.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, select and price risk for niche business to achieve profitability.
• Review renewals and requests; coordinate with Risk Control and agents.
• Maintain portfolio health and meet performance indicators.
• Develop relationships with distribution partners and drive positive business flow.
• Mentor junior staff and support training.
