Job summary

Arceus is seeking a Commercial and Product Counsel to work remotely in the United States as a part-time independent contractor. You will review and negotiate commercial contracts, advise on product and privacy matters, and partner with product and engineering to improve the platform for growing tech companies.

You should have a J.D. and active bar membership, 5–8 years of experience, and a customer-first mindset.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and active bar membership.
• 5+ years practicing law with tech focus; in-house or sole counsel experience.
• Specialize in commercial, product, and privacy law.
• Customer-first mindset with practical, business-focused advice.
• Experience with AI-assisted legal workflows.

Responsibilities

• Review and negotiate commercial contracts; advise on product and privacy matters.
• Build trusted relationships with customers and act as an extension of their legal team.
• Partner with product/engineering to streamline review and improve speed/accuracy of tooling.
• Develop and codify review playbooks and quality standards.
• Identify inefficiencies and standardize recurring contract types.
