Job summary

Arceus is hiring a Commercial and Product Counsel in San Francisco, in-person role that blends law and technology. The attorney will partner with customers and internal teams, review contracts, and scale legal operations for a fast-growing in-house function.

The ideal candidate has J.D. with California Bar, 5–8 years in technology companies, and strong skills in commercial, product, and privacy law. Expect high ownership and long hours in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. and active California bar membership.
• 5–8 years of experience at technology companies; in-house or sole counsel required.
• Corporate, commercial, product, and privacy law; EC/VC exposure a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and negotiate commercial contracts across product and privacy matters.
• Partner with legal and product teams to move contracts efficiently and accurately.
• Interpret contract terms and surface obligations, risks, and anomalies.
• Operate internal tooling to streamline review and help improve platform speed and accuracy.
• Standardize and codify recurring contract types, review playbooks, and quality bars.
• Protect turnaround and SLA commitments.
• Partner with operations to evolve how we deliver legal services as we scale.
