Job summary

SouthState Bank is seeking a SAM Commercial Portfolio Manager to support a commercial loan portfolio with underwriting and portfolio management responsibilities. You will evaluate renewals and modifications, prepare credit memos, and guide loans through approvals, ensuring compliance with Bank policies and regulatory requirements.

In this role you will monitor covenant testing, servicing reviews, and asset reports, while maintaining relationships with internal partners and attorneys.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field; banking experience asset
• Minimum 5 years in credit analysis, commercial banking, or portfolio management
• Familiarity with loan structuring and loan documentation
• Strong knowledge of federal/state lending regulations and bank policies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial information to evaluate credit worthiness for renewals, modifications and forbearance requests
• Prepare comprehensive credit memos with borrower background, cash flow analysis, and risk assessment
• Guide loan requests through the credit approval process and ensure compliance with regulations
• Maintain portfolio quality through covenant testing, annual servicing reviews, and tracking of criticized assets
• Collaborate with CRO/TL and other stakeholders to clear documentation and support committee presentations
