Job summary

UCHealth is seeking a Supervisor for the UCHlth Professional Coding team. The role oversees daily staff activities, directs training, and ensures quality compliance in a fast-paced coding environment. Candidates should have AHIMA/AAPC certification and at least two years of relevant experience, with supervisory preference.

Qualifications

• High School diploma GED.
• Coding-related certification from AHIMA or AAPC.
• 2 years of relevant experience. Preferred: 2 years of supervisory experience.
• ADDITIONAL POSITION LEVEL CREDENTIAL INFORMATION: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CCA, CPC, CPC-H within 1 year

Responsibilities

• Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments. Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Supports management initiatives. Assesses quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfil required service levels. Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
• Serves as an internal liaison with other departments that have coding concerns/questions.
