Job summary

R1 RCM, Inc. is seeking a Coding Educator to lead coding education across specialties, plan and coordinate training, and ensure QA and auditing standards are met.

Ideal candidates have coder education, auditing, or leadership experience and strong knowledge of ancillary, surgical, and E/M coding, with the ability to train onshore and offshore coders. Remote US-based role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Certification in CCS, COC, RHIA, RHIT, or CPC.
• Experience in production coding, auditing, coder education or coding leadership.
• Specialty experience: Ancillary, Surgical, Emergency Medicine, E/M coding.
• Strong communication skills in writing and speaking.
• X-ray: ability to prepare and present training materials with data.

Responsibilities

• Audit, educate, and monitor coders for E/M levels, procedures, and diagnosis coding (CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS).
• Identify areas needing focused education; develop and update education programs for coders.
• Ensure Auditor production standards, QA requirements, and auditing guidelines are met.
• Review and provide feedback to develop instructional materials, course plans, and evaluation tools.
• Experience training onshore and offshore coders on CPT/ICD-10 and HCPCS.
