Qualifications

• Must have data entry and retrieval skills.
• Familiar with Cardiology, Cardiovascular and Nephrology coding.
• Excellent verbal and written communication to present information professionally.
• Proficient with Windows-style applications and role-specific software.

Responsibilities

• Audits and educates coders to ensure coding consistency across all regions.
• Interprets CMS/Coding policies and provides education to physicians/Coding and Education staff.
• Trains new hires and interns.
• Develops measures to track and monitor coding improvement initiatives.
• Consults for physicians.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including privacy and communication styles.
