Qualifications

• 5 years related clinical experience or coding experience with Medicare/Managed Care; or 3 years with Bachelor's degree.
• Certification in Coding (CCS-P, CCS), CPC, CPC-H, CCS-P, or CCS is required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; additional degrees or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to present findings to executives and physicians.
• Knowledge of CMS coding policies and compliance; ability to educate physicians and staff.

Responsibilities

• Audits and educates coders to ensure coding consistency across all regions.
• Interprets CMS/Coding policies and provides education to physicians and Coding staff.
• Trains new hires and interns.
• Develops measures to track and monitor coding improvement initiatives.
• Consults for physicians.
• Adapts behavior to the patient population and communication style.
• Other related duties as required.
