Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to support core banking systems, including Deposits, Loans, Customer & Account Management, General Ledger and Tax.

You will design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL-based mainframe applications, manage batch jobs with JCL/VSAM, and work with analysts and QA to deliver reliable solutions; this remote-friendly US-based role offers flexibility and growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years hands‑on mainframe app development
• Banking domain experience in Deposits/Loans/GL/Tax
• Experience with Endevor, Xpediter, Easytrieve, CICS/IMS

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain mainframe apps supporting core banking operations.
• Analyze requirements and translate into mainframe solutions.
• Develop and support batch processing with COBOL, JCL, VSAM.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve defects in production.
• Collaborate with analysts, architects, testers, and stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews and SIT/UAT deployment activities
