Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to support core banking systems (Deposits, Loans, Customer & Account Management, GL, Tax) with COBOL/JCL/VSAM. You will design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications, handle batch jobs, debug issues, and collaborate with BAs, architects, and QA.

The role offers a remote US work arrangement with flexible hours and Cognizant benefits.

Qualifications

5+ years hands-on mainframe development with COBOL/JCL/VSAM.
Strong core banking experience: Deposits, Loans, Customer & Account Management, GL, Tax.
Experience with Endevor, Xpediter, Easytrieve.
Knowledge of CICS and IMS preferred.
Ability to analyze requirements and support testing and deployments in banking.
Experience with FIS Systematics Core Banking Platform is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain mainframe applications supporting core banking operations.
Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective mainframe solutions.
Develop and support batch processing jobs using COBOL, JCL, VSAM.
Perform code debugging, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and production support activities.
Collaborate with business analysts, architects, testers, and stakeholders to implement system enhancements.
Participate in code reviews, unit testing, SIT/UAT support, and deployment activities.
