Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to support core banking applications in a remote US role. The candidate will work on deposits, loans, customer & account management, general ledger, and tax systems using COBOL-based mainframe environments.

Responsibilities include designing, coding, testing, and maintaining mainframe solutions, with focus on batch processing and production support.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on mainframe app development.
• Strong experience with COBOL-based mainframe environments and batch processing.
• Banking domain expertise in deposits, loans, GL, and tax systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications for core banking operations.
• Translate business requirements into mainframe solutions; perform analysis and debugging.
• Develop and support batch jobs using COBOL, JCL, VSAM; ensure quality and production readiness.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, SIT/UAT support, and deployments.
• Collaborate with analysts, architects, testers, and stakeholders on enhancements.
• Provide production support and troubleshoot issues in banking systems.
