Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation seeks an experienced Mainframe Developer to support and enhance core banking systems, including deposits, loans, customers, GL, and tax. You will work with COBOL, JCL, and VSAM in a remote US setup, collaborating with analysts and QA across the project lifecycle.

We value strong banking domain knowledge and hands-on mainframe expertise, including Endevor, Xpediter, and Easytrieve.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on mainframe development with COBOL/JCL/VSAM.
• Strong experience in core banking areas: deposits, loans, customer & account mgmt, GL, tax.
• Experience with Endevor, Xpediter, Easytrieve; knowledge of CICS/IMS preferred.
• Ability to analyze requirements and deliver production-grade enhancements.
• Experience with FIS Systematics Core Banking Platform is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain mainframe apps supporting banking operations.
• Analyze requirements and translate into effective mainframe solutions.
• Develop and support batch jobs using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and related tools.
• Debug, troubleshoot, resolve defects, and provide production support.
• Collaborate with analysts, architects, testers, and stakeholders on enhancements.
• Participate in code reviews, SIT/UAT support, and deployments.
