Job summary

Absolute Machine Tools, Inc. seeks a CNC Field Engineer to travel to client manufacturing sites to install, maintain, diagnose and repair CNC mills, lathes and routers across the Minneapolis–St.

Paul region and nationwide. You will troubleshoot FANUC, Mitsubishi and Siemens controls, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, electrical systems and PLC ladders, then train operators and write detailed service reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; associate degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or related discipline, a plus.
• At least 3 years of current experience with industrial machinery or automated CNC tools.
• Hands-on knowledge with FANUC, Mitsubishi and Siemens controls.
• Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical CNC systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams and blueprints.
• Proficient use of meters, oscilloscopes and precision metrology tools.
• Willingness to travel Minneapolis/St. Paul region frequently.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain CNC machinery, accessories and automation equipment.
• Diagnose and repair complex CNC systems at client sites.
• Travel to client sites in the Minneapolis/St. Paul region and nationwide as needed.
• Instruct machine operators on operation and basic troubleshooting.
• Write detailed service reports with parts used and status.
• Assist in stocking and tracking repair parts.
