Job summary

SoftPro seeks a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for our Cloud Operations Team, based in Raleigh, NC or remote. You will produce observability metrics, refine SLIs, and help architect and scale cloud-based services for performance and reliability.

Responsibilities include building IaC for alerts, maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with product teams while supporting incident response and post‑mortem analyses. Strong Linux/Windows experience and container orchestration are required.

Qualifications

• Experience provisioning Cloud Infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, and AZ CLI.
• Automation: develop automation and orchestration using CI/CD tooling and scripting languages.
• Linux/Unix command-line and Windows Server administration skills.
• Experience with Service Fabric, Kubernetes, and Azure VM Scale Sets.
• Containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Distributed computing and microservices knowledge.
• Work management via ticketing systems and source control (Jira, Azure DevOps, TFS, Git).
• CI/CD pipeline development and associated tools.
• Application performance monitoring & alerting platforms (Azure Monitor, Application Insights, AWS CloudWatch).
• Design and implement High-Availability / Disaster-Recovery solutions for Public Cloud IaaS & PaaS resources.
• Database familiarity: MS SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, Azure CosmosDb.
• Reverse proxy stack support: NGINX, HAProxy.
• Identity Access Management, Authentication & Authorization, Role‑Based Access Control.
• Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
• Experience supporting highly available systems & production operations.
• Clear communication of technical information to diverse audiences.
• Incident management under pressure during outages or impactful events.

Responsibilities

• Produce and refine observability metrics associated with our platforms and the user experience.
• Help refine our service level indicator monitoring capabilities to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Participate in the development and architecture of our operational systems focusing on performance, health, security, and scalability for all cloud‑based environments.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code to build alerting and configure monitoring systems.
• Build and maintain CI/CD automation pipelines to support the services and systems we provide.
• Collaborate with product development and engineering teams in support of future organizational direction.
• Provide incident response and triage production issues in our software products, including the underlying Cloud Infrastructure and service providers.
• Define, implement and assess system reporting and monitoring needs.
• Participate in team activities such as stand‑ups, backlog refinements, blameless post‑mortems, and product demonstrations/reviews.
• Share passion for problem solving and continuous improvement with the team.
