Job summary

PointClickCare is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Sr SRE) to provide technical leadership for a growing operations-focused team at scale. You will implement and automate robust, observable systems and drive reliability across core services.

You will partner with security and software teams to improve resiliency, performance, and cost while guiding best practices and incident response. The role supports remote/hybrid work with occasional in-person events at partner locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, MIS, or other related discipline.
• Prior relevant software development / architecture experience.
• Hands-on DevOps or System Administration experience.
• Experience building and supporting cloud-based solutions.
• Experience in production environments with mission-critical apps.
• Experience with C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl or Ruby.
• Experience with configuration management and deployment tools like Chef, Terraform, Puppet or Ansible.
• Experience administering Windows and Linux machines.
• Familiarity with SDLC, QA and beta environments.
• Cloud concepts and Azure experience preferred.
• Experience with virtualization.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to a growing team focused on applying software engineering practices to operations at scale.
• Monitor and report on service level objectives for applications and services.
• Lead technical training events, game day scenarios, and engineering spikes.
• Design and architect operational solutions to increase automation and repeatability.
• Maintain monitoring to improve visibility into performance and business metrics.
• Promote healthy software development practices.
• Test resiliency across error conditions.
• Collaborate with security engineers to address risks and vulnerabilities.
• Coordinate with internal teams to meet business requirements.
• Advise on resiliency, efficiency, performance and cost improvements.
• Participate in feature/service oriented development teams.
