Job summary

GitLab is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to join our Runway team. You will design, build, and maintain Kubernetes-based infra and developer tooling, advancing GitOps and IaC adoption across the organization.

You will work hands-on at the intersection of infrastructure, automation, and developer experience, enabling secure, scalable delivery pipelines across clouds. Remote-friendly role across the United States and beyond.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in a platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE role.
• Production Kubernetes experience (EKS, GKE, or AKS).
• Experience with ArgoCD or comparable GitOps tooling.
• Proficiency in Terraform for cloud infrastructure provisioning and remote state management.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Scripting in Go, Python, or Bash.
• Familiarity with Helm for Kubernetes packaging.
• Networking fundamentals: DNS, load balancing, ingress, service mesh concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to document systems clearly.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and improve production Kubernetes clusters across clouds.
• Own and extend ArgoCD-based GitOps workflows and deployment standards.
• Write, review, and maintain Terraform modules for cloud provisioning.
• Monitor platform health, respond to incidents, and drive reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with teams to onboard services and provide self-service tooling.
• Implement RBAC, network policies, and secrets management for security and compliance.
• Integrate platform capabilities with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Tekton).
