Job summary

GitLab is seeking a Senior Migration Engineer for GitLab Dedicated to partner with customers in planning and delivering migrations from self-managed GitLab to fully managed GitLab Dedicated environments. You will use GitLab Geo for data replication and guide customers through cutover and validation.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering customer-facing migrations or technical advisory engagements.
• Solid GitLab/Git knowledge and source-control workflows.
• Infrastructure as code tools like Terraform/Ansible; cloud experience (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Hands-on Kubernetes production experience; network and security basics.

Responsibilities

• Deliver migrations from initial assessment to post‑migration validation.
• Use GitLab Geo to replicate data and debug synchronization issues.
• Design network connectivity within GitLab Dedicated constraints.
• Apply infrastructure as code practices to validate environments.
• Advise on migration sequencing, cutover windows, and requirements.
• Improve tooling, scripts, and runbooks for reliable delivery.
• Collaborate with Sales, Professional Services, Product, and Engineering to resolve blockers.
• Manage multiple customer engagements and share knowledge across teams.
