Job summary

GitLab is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to join our Runway team. You will help design, build, and maintain the infrastructure and developer tooling that powers our engineering organization.

You will play a key role in advancing our Kubernetes-based platform, maturing our GitOps practices, and driving infrastructure-as-code adoption across the business. Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing production Kubernetes clusters across cloud environments.
• Strong IaC experience with Terraform.
• Experience with GitOps workflows using ArgoCD.
• Proficiency in platform reliability, monitoring, incident response.
• Security experience with RBAC, network policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and improve production-grade Kubernetes clusters across cloud environments.
• Own and extend ArgoCD-based GitOps workflows; develop and maintain Application Sets, manage sync policies, and enforce deployment standards across environments.
• Write, review, and maintain Terraform modules to provision and manage cloud infrastructure; enforce IaC best practices including module reuse, state management, and drift detection.
• Monitor platform health, respond to incidents, conduct post-mortems, and drive improvements to availability, performance, and observability.
• Collaborate with application teams to onboard services onto the platform; create documentation, runbooks, and self-service tooling that improves developer productivity.
• Implement RBAC and security policies across the platform.
